The short answer
What it costs. A website redesign can cost anywhere from a few thousand dollars to well over $100,000. The price depends on who does the work, how many pages and templates you need, and whether copy, SEO migration and post launch support are in the quote. One published guide puts a full B2B SaaS redesign at between $8,000 and $80,000+ (Windmark, their figures).
What SmartDesign costs. A SmartDesign redesign, from SmartReach AI, is from $2,500 for a full website of up to 7 pages, with copywriting and SEO setup included, the same price and process as a new build. Optional CMS +$500; optional care plan $199/month (with a 3 month minimum term).

Why redesign quotes are so far apart
Ask three providers to redesign the same site and you can get three numbers that look like three different projects. Windmark, a Webflow studio, opens its own redesign guide with exactly that: you ask three agencies for a quote on the same brief and get back $5,200, $24,000, and $76,500.
The gap usually comes from four things:
- Who does the work. A freelancer, a small studio and a large agency carry very different overheads.
- Scope. The number of pages and templates, custom functionality, integrations and languages.
- What is included. Copy, imagery, SEO migration, revisions and launch support are in some quotes and missing from others.
- What happens after launch. Hosting, security and edits are either covered by a plan or paid for later.
Published redesign prices by type of provider
These are figures from pages we opened on 10 October 2026. They are each company own prices or estimates, not ours, and they will change. Check the source before relying on them.
| Provider type | Their published figure | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Freelancer or solo designer | $3K to $12K | Windmark redesign guide |
| Mid tier agency | $15K to $45K | Windmark |
| Specialist Webflow partner / senior team | $40K to $120K+ | Windmark |
| Flat fee redesign studio | Starter Refresh from $2,250 (a focused homepage project), Full Site Rebuild from $3,750, Custom Studio Build from $5,000 | TMN Creative pricing |
| SmartDesign | From $2,500 for a full website of up to 7 pages, copy and SEO setup included | SmartDesign pricing |
Read the table with care: these providers serve different clients and scopes, and a single price cannot capture that. What it does show is that the headline number alone will not tell you which quote is better value. What is inside it will.
The costs redesign quotes often leave out
Copywriting
A redesign with old copy is a new coat of paint. Windmark guide prices a copywriter at $3K to $15K depending on scope when copy is not in the quote (their figure). Ask who writes the words and whether that is included.
SEO and your existing URLs
A redesign can change page addresses. Pages that already bring traffic need a plan: which URLs stay, which move, and how old addresses redirect to new ones. Windmark estimates 15 to 25 hours of dev work or a technical SEO consultant at $1.5K to $5K if your provider does not include it (their figures). Ask exactly what SEO work is in scope.
Imagery
Stock photos or custom photography and illustration. Windmark puts custom work at $2K to $20K (their figure).
Branding
If the logo, colors or type need to change too, that is a separate piece of work. See our website rebranding cost guide.
Editing tools
Can your team change content after launch without a developer? A CMS may be included or extra.
Upkeep
Hosting, security, backups and edits continue for as long as the site is live. Windmark describes retainers of $1K to $5K per month as normal for ongoing support (their figure). Others publish smaller fixed plans. Compare like for like.
Your team time
Feedback rounds, approvals and content gathering all take hours. A clear process with a fixed number of revision rounds keeps that predictable.
Redesign, refresh or rebuild?
- Refresh: new visuals, same structure and copy. Fastest, but it rarely fixes a site that does not convert.
- Redesign: new structure, copy and design around a clear goal, keeping what already works (proof, pages that rank, brand assets).
- Rebuild on a new platform: a redesign plus a move to new technology. More moving parts, especially around URLs and content migration.
If the message and the path to a meeting are wrong, a refresh will not fix it. That is when a full redesign earns its cost.

What a first year looks like
If you keep the optional care plan for 12 months (its minimum term is 3 months), the arithmetic is simple:
| Item | Cost |
|---|---|
| Redesign (up to 7 pages, copy and SEO setup included) | $2,500 |
| Care plan, 12 x $199 | $2,388 |
| First year without CMS | $4,888 |
| Optional CMS | +$500 |
| First year with CMS | $5,388 |
Plus any extra edits beyond the included hour at $100/hour, and any logo and branding work (an add on starting at $500).
Questions to ask before you sign any redesign quote
- How many pages and templates are included?
- Who writes the copy, and is it in the price?
- What SEO work is included, and how will my existing URLs be handled?
- How many revision rounds are there, and what triggers extra charges?
- What is the turnaround, and when does it start?
- What platform is it built on, and what files do I receive at the end?
- Can my team edit the site, and what does that cost?
- What does upkeep cost each month, and what does it cover?
Ask us the same questions. We would rather you compare like for like.
When not to redesign
Do not redesign if the site already converts and only a page or two is out of date: fix those pages. And if the problem is what happens after a visitor raises a hand (slow replies, no follow up), the answer may be a conversion layer like SmartConvert rather than a new site. FAQ
How much does a website redesign cost?
It depends on who does the work and what is included. Published figures we checked on 10 October 2026 ranged from a few thousand dollars for freelancers and flat fee studios to $40K to $120K+ for specialist Webflow partners (Windmark figures). Compare the build price, what is included, and the monthly cost after launch.
How much does a SmartDesign website redesign cost?
